Horrendous attempt to spice up geometry with pretty colors

As a math tutor, I didn't think I could find a geometry textbook I disliked more than "Discovering Geometry" by Michael Serra. Then I encountered this book. (Specifically, I have seen the Michigan version, but in my experience, the state-by-state variation among different versions of the same textbook is relatively minimal.)

Geometry by Larson, Boswell, et al is disorganized and dizzying. In short, it is simply horrendous. It is so replete with dazzling colors and uninformative pictures that I can hardly find the theorems. (It's like a "Where's Waldo?" of theorems and postulates.) By contrast, the Jurgensen book may look dry, but the authors conservatively reserve color to bring your attention to the most important information, such as theorems you should memorize. Larson, et al could really learn something from the more "boring" geometry books of years past.

Just do a chapter-by-chapter comparison with the Jurgensen book, and you'll realize how much material is omitted from this book that used to be taught in geometry classes 20 years ago. This book is poorly organized and doesn't even teach basic constructions. Also, the index, glossary, and other reference materials at the back of the book are not very well formatted. Anyone comparing this book with an older geometry book from 15 or 20 years ago will understand why many veteran math teachers bemoan such watered-down textbooks and why so many college freshmen have to take remedial high school mathematics to learn topics they should have covered before entering college.

Furthermore, it weighs a ton! I chalk that up to the number of useless photographs and graphics in it. (I find the quality of a textbook is inversely proportional to the number of fancy pictures in it.) The Jurgensen book packs far more information in it at a fraction of the weight or volume. The book is a prime example of a textbook with a lot of filler and very little meat. In short, I would never recommend this book to a student.

Intense and Sweet

This story was one of the most intense I've read in a long time. Seriously heart-pounding, eyes-glued-to-the-page suspense, along with a sweet taste of romance carefully threaded in. As other reviewers have stated, this is not a typical romantic suspense due to the subject matter, but I loved the tender interactions between Morgan and Linc. It was just enough, IMO.

I'd also like to see more with Jackson and Gideon, especially Jackson and Molly. Loved Ms. Clark's Deadly series as well. Looking forward to her next offering!

Love the Deadly Series from this author - didn't really know what to expect with this book. Hunted deals with some harsh issues. I was hooked once I started reading and finished it in one sitting. Not a romance book in my opinion but the feelings between Morgan and Lincoln are there. Really enjoyed this book.

Seriously gripping book - if it weren't for my job I'd have finished it in one sitting. Very suspenseful and fast-moving. I wouldn't classify this as a romance in the traditional sense and I'm glad. With the subject matter, that would have been awkward and out of place. There are feelings between the two main characters, obviously, but it doesn't go much further than that.
I really like this author - she develops her characters so fully you can't help but care about them, even secondary characters. I look forward to more from her.

Oh wow, 60 fudge recipes, this is something. I love fudges very very much. I have read this book thoroughly; I found many useful tips on fudge making. After arriving in the United States, Leedskalnin moved to Florida around 1919, where he purchased a small piece of land in Florida City. Over the next 20 years, Leedskalnin putatively constructed and lived within a massive coral monument he called "Rock Gate Park", dedicated to the girl who had left him years before. Working alone at night, Leedskalnin eventually quarried and sculpted over 1,100 short tons of coral into a monument that would later be known as the Coral Castle. Leedskalnin's is also well known for his theories on magnetism, detailing his theories on the interaction of electricity, magnetism and the body; Leedskalnin also included a number of simple experiments to validate his theories. Most importantly, Edward Leedskalnin claimed that all matter was being acted upon by what he called "individual magnets" -- simply a positive and a negative, as a battery. It is obvious from the pamphlets that he produced that this theory became the base of all of his work, and most likely thoughts as well. He also attempted to claim that scientists of his time were looking in the wrong place for their understanding of electricity, and that they were only observing "one half of the whole concept" with "one sided tools of measurement". In addition to all these studies, he found the time to write this little booklet called "A Book in Every Home". Many believe the answers to the questions surrounding Coral Castle lie within. Indeed, every other page is BLANK; did he purposefully leave room to interpret a code? Could all the answers to how this amazing feat was accomplished lie buried in this "social commentary"?

This book is really short and all he wrote about was his personal belief on how people should wait until marriage to have sex - the reason he never got married was because women are ruined after sleeping with their first man. I was hoping for a romantic story but all he gave was a lecture on how to raise children.

This is an excellent book for teachers of autistic children. Outside recess is often baffling and stressful for kids who don't have the necessary social skills to "fit in".
